Christmas Haul

This being the last Christmas as a childless couple, Chad and I felt very lucky. We were initially going to do very small gifts for each other but it kind of got away from us. Both Chad and I prefer to pick out our gifts and then get little surprises for each other as well. I would much rather that he tell me what he wants than for me to get something that is major failure. But we do like to do small surprises along the way.

Chad enjoyed getting some books, comics, and video games. I also attempted to surprise him with some new sun glasses, gloves, and a T-Shirt. He also only persuaded me to let him open one of his gifts early, a video game that we have both really enjoyed. This is usually a battle each year and I always give in to letting him open gifts early. I am such a push over, what am I going to do with a son that is probably just like his Father. Oh boy.

The little surprises I got for Chad

I also got some surprises from Chad, he gave me two amazing T-Shirts that I can't wait to wear once this baby is out of me. He also gave me an awesome necklace that I love, all of which he picked out himself. Then I chose some tops (I am a sweater addict) but can't wear them until after the baby.

Necklace and Earrings from Chad
Amazing T-Shirts that Chad surprised me with. The top one is of Princess Leia saying "So...he's my father too?!" Classically awesome. And the second, a stylish polka-dot space suit.
A few of the tops I picked

Lastly, I got shoes! You will remember in my previous post about my favorite fall items, I listed a pair of Leopard Loafers. The ones pictured before were the Steve Maddens which ran at about $120. Lets be honest, with all the baby things we were purchasing, I was not able to put out the big bucks to buy those full price. I kept my eye out for them and watched them go on sale but they never had my size. I was sad to say the least. Then I stumbled across a similar pair that were much cheaper but still the same idea. This specific pair was originally $70 but I got them on sale for $39.99. I am very pleased indeed. The site that I got them from no longer have them so I can't refer you there, so sorry.

Though they aren't exactly like their more expensive competition, they still fulfill my need for a pair of leopard loafers. And are easier on the ol' pocketbook.

We were exceedingly blessed indeed this Christmas and completely realize that next year won't be nearly as lavish. In fact, we will be poor and have a child so the next several years will be kind of a drought. I think that this year got away from us a bit because we had been focusing so much on only buying things for the baby so when we got a small chance to spoil each other, we couldn't help it :)

Hope your Christmas was cheery and bright. What was your favorite Christmas gift?

Happy Tuesday!

Hil
