2 1/2 Weeks Old

Our little Geddy is technically 3 weeks old now BUT when I took these pictures, he was 2 1/2 weeks. I stole this idea from my darling sister in law, Elizabeth. She took pictures of her boys next to a little green monkey so you could see how much they have grown each time. I thought it was adorable and want to do the same!

Geddy with Murphy the Moose (yes we named him).
Geddy's big sissy wanted to be on the soft blanket too. You can see Geddy is starting to slide down the couch.

The trickiest part was catching Geddy on a good day. He had several days where he was quite grumpy when awake and so taking pictures of him during that time didn't seem very fun. Our little dude, as we have mentioned before is very darling but has quite a sassy streak. Lately, he has become more pleasant when awake and will look around and lay quietly until he gets tired and then angry. Good thing he is so cute :) He is actually sleeping really well (knock on wood) and I only get up with him twice from about 11:30pm-7am. I am getting about 6 hours of sleep which is surprisingly manageable! I will also take cat naps throughout the day.

I am recovering fairly well. As many may know, I had a blood clot under my incision from the C-Section. It was an unfortunate set back because the way to fix that is to open the incision, scrape out the blood clot and then leave the incision open so it can heal from the inside out. This means I had to go to the doctor almost everyday to get it cleaned and Chad had to learn how to clean it also for the weekends. It usually takes about 2 weeks for it to heal but it oozes and I have to keep it bandaged. Chad was appalled by how deep and large it was. He said he felt like we were in the civil war and I got a bayonette in the gut. Ha, I love him. It is healing well but I am so tired of having to nurse this wound while trying to take care of a newborn.

I must say that going through all of this makes me impressed with both myself and my body. My poor body has been through hell and back but it doesn't give up. Very impressive. I have had my days where I just cried my eyes out because I was sore, with a crying baby, and a barking dog but things are getting so much better. I actually have moments where I think "I can totally do this" and that gives me the energy to clean the kitchen and fold the laundry. Those moments are directly from Heavenly Father and they keep me going.

Happy Wednesday!

I want to hold Geddy!!! He is so stinking cute and I think I love him more for being sassy. :) I'm so glad you are healing well and the whole bayonette comments makes me laugh. Chad is awesome.

He really is a cute little baby. He looks like a little doll in those pictures. Too cute!
