Review: That Thing You Do

Ohhhhhh this movie! This is one of those movies that I have memorized because I watched it so much in Elementary School through Jr. High. I knew the lyrics to the songs, I knew every outfit that Liv Tyler wore, and which colored suit the band wore for each scene. I adore this movie.

Its been years since I've seen it and had kind of forgotten about its existence. I forced Chad to watch it with me. He was kind enough to sit through my singing along to the songs and laughing at lines that hadn't even happened yet. At the end, I made him tell me how much he liked it and I gushed about it in response.

The characters were great. Lenny was the funny one (he cracks me up!), Jimmy was the dreamy jerk, The Bass Player (name never revealed) is the weird one, Guy is the dorky, nice, guy, Fey is the sweet, supportive, love interest, and Mr. White is Tom Hanks (that explains enough for his character).

The Bass Player, Lenny, Mr. White, Jimmy, Fey, and Guy.

I am going to admit something that I know so many people disagree with. I think Liv Tyler is adorable. Now, I will probably be stoned for saying that but I think she is the cutest thing ever. In real life and other movies I've seen her in. I mean, the girl got to be in LOTR and wear elf ears, lets be honest, thats kind of a dream of mine. I also really liked her in this movie because she was sweet, kind, and not some hussy.

Also, did you know that Tom Hanks wrote and directed the movie? Well he did and I dare say, he did a great job. The story was a classic and gave me the warm fuzzies. I would suggest this movie to anyone. Do you like to be happy? Do you like music? Do you shamingly like a subtle love story? Then this movie is for you.

If you haven't seen it, go watch it. If you have seen it, watch it again.

Happy Monday!

I love this movie too! "Looks like Lenny's going fishing..." "I AM SPARTICUS!!" Oh, and Charlize Theron before she won an Oscar? Random. But I always got so bored during the movie in the night club. Other than that, I loved it.
