On Trend: Come One, Come Fall!

Ohhh, Fall is quickly approaching and I cannot wait! Fall is, by far, my favorite season of them all. Especially for fashion prurposes. Coats, boots, layering galore. Last Fall, I was pregnant and was largely pregnant during the winter. Therefore, my layering capabilities were limited because I was too hot 98% of the time. I would literally walk around outside in short sleeves while it was snowing. The cold was my only escape!

Many have probably seen Fall trend/attire posts on other blogs and I am joining the forces. These are the trends that I am adoring and am excited to wear this coming fall.

Peter Pan Collar:
Even before this became a popular trend, I have always loved the retro vibe of the Peter Pan Collar. So lady like and can easily be dressed up or down- slacks, jeans, skirts, you name it. Also great with cardigans, jackets, or simply by themselves.

Polka Dot Sweater:
For one, polka dots are always amazing. Second, who doesn't love fall sweaters? I know that J.Crew has really nailed the polka dot sweater front and its a style that I absolutely adore. Paired with trousers, loafers, and maybe even layering over a button down, this sweater is perfect for a crisp fall day. J.Crew, you have done it...yet again.

Loafers:
Oh dear, sweet, loafers. From patterns, to bright colors, to studs, to the ones my brother's wore to church in  Jr. High, these are popping up everywhere. They fit perfectly with the Menswear trend (discussed below). These shoes are SO friendly to Mama's everywhere. They are handsomely sheik while being comfortable and practical. Pair these bad boys with skinnies or an awesome pair of printed slacks and throw an adorable polka dot sweater or peter pan collared top. I get shivers thinking about the options.

Menswear:
I have reviewed the Menswear Trend before (you can read that here) and as explained then, I really love it. There is something about a structured blazer, crisp white button down, and masculine trousers on a lady that is so appealing. Its an effortless cool look that any confident woman could rock. You don't even have to wear an entire suit, just use bits and pieces if you are feeling sheepish.

Peplum:
Feminine is the first word I would use to describe a Peplum piece of clothing. The perfect flair to help any woman accentuate her curves. A pop right at the hip is incredibly flattering for a lady looking to define a waist line. There are so many lovely patterns and colors that these tops or skirts come in. One can dress up or down this feminine, fall, style.

Leather Booties:
Like the loafers, these leather booties can be a Mama's best friend. Casual enough to wear to the grocery store or park but cuter than New Balance tennis shoes. Casually cool and looks better with age as the leather becomes soft and worn. I found a heeled pair below for an amazing sale but I am thinking that the flatter style would be even more comfortable and practical. If you find some for an amazing price, snatch them up without a second thought! These booties are spreading like wildfire in the fashion world and you will get your money's worth.

I found these on a killer sale at Piperlime.com.

Lipstick Red Dresses:
The last item on my fall wishlist is the Lipstick Red Dress. While I on Pinterest I stumbled upon a picture of Dita Von Teese in a stunning red dress. Not only is the color bangin' and perfectly flatters her porcelain skin but the fit is magnificent. I love that it covers so much of her but the fit is just so that her womanly figure is tastefully outlined. Absolutely perfect.

There you have it! These are the items on my radar for fall shopping. This post was so fun to write. I spent way too much time on it but I loved every second of it. For those who actually finished reading this, thank you. And leave a comment telling me what you are looking for this fall!

Happy Fall Shopping Thursday!

This post came in perfect timing because I have actually saved up a little money for clothes! I'm trying so hard to get away from the t-shirt + jeans rut I've been in for ... a long time. I'm looking for a tailored blazer, a skinny belt (do I dare start belting things?) and I would love some bright red flats. I wish you were closer so you could help me!
