Fantasy is Escapist


I absolutely adore this quote by J.R.R Tolkien and couldn't agree with it more. As a child, I would spend hours and hours pretending by myself while my older siblings were at school. Pretending I was a Princess or a woodland fairy, anything would do.

One of my greatest hopes is that little Geddy will develop an imagination all his own. That he can appreciate books that challenge reality and make you use your imagination.

lovely quote. I wonder how Tolkien's role in WWI is related-- He makes particular mention of 'captured soldiers'... hmmm.
