This and That

Some may have probably noticed my absence this last weekend, I don't know why but I just wasn't in the mood to write. It happens every once in a while and rather than throwing up something forced, I just let it ride its course until I get the writing bug again. I don't want to fill this space with crap (haha, some may feel like I already do that), I want it to be things that I enjoy and that are heartfelt or real. So, with that, I am sorry for the absence and am happy to be back!

This post is filled updates about things going on in our lives and pictures from my new phone. Apologies for the cell phone pics buts again, it was just one of those weeks.

Last week, Geddy refused to take any afternoon naps. We're talking he was awake from 1-7pm. Yeah, that is a lot of Mama/Baby time. With Geddy being curious and constantly on the move or needing to be entertained, it was a challenge to not get a break each afternoon. Luckily, we seem to be back on course this week (THANK HEAVEN!). We have our 9 month appointment today and I am both excited and nervous. I love to hear the progress but always fear that he is under weight or that the doctor is going to tell me I am doing a crappy job. Silly worries, each appointment so far has been totally successful, I am just paranoid.

Chad has been so busy with school and work but I am beyond impressed with how well he handles it. With his busy schedule, I have had to get creative with entertaining our little dude. We take a few walks each day and then we try to play with toys in different rooms of our apartment. I feel like just a change of scenery tends to help a bit. Geddy was getting really tired of his toys so Grandma Glenna totally pulled through and bought Mr. Pants (one of Geddy's nicknames) a bunch of new toys that make noises, flash lights, and are super fun. Such a wonderful gesture, I could not stop thanking her. We also got a few new books for him, I have been trying to read to him more each day. Some days are better than others but he is growing and moving like crazy, I just try and keep up :)

In order to make the "new toy happies" last, I have actually split up all the toys and put some of them away. I am thinking that I will switch them out each week so Geddy is seeing new toys and forgetting about the old ones. I realize this will probably only work while he is young but it seems to be doing the trick for now. Thank you again Grandma and Grandpa de Lisle!

Playing with everything other than toys.
Snuggled up in his new winter coat. Thanks Glamma!

As mentioned above, I got a new phone! I had my other phone for over two years and it was started to get slow and really glitchy so it was time for a new one. I am always impressed by what new and fancy things they come up with just in two years. I really love my new one, its the Samsung Galaxy s3 and its pretty spiffy. Although, I am surprised that I get less reception in our apartment than my old phone did. Kind lame but oh well.

Happy Wednesday!

I love the pictures of Geddy in his coat! So cute when he's all bundled. I totally get the having to switch rooms thing. Sometimes Abby is so fussy in the family room, but when we go to the toy room she's like a new woman. You gotta do what you've gotta do!

I'm loving the bundled up look. I could kiss that boy right this minute. Have you taken Geddy to the Book Babies program at the public library? It's on Friday mornings. We used to go, and L adored it. It's basically half an hour of songs and bouncing rhymes that you can then do throughout the week at home. It was something that really helped me push through the last day of the week when Chase was doing the school/work thing.
