Shoe Love

So, I generally believe that you pay for quality. And that quality lasts. I will be honest though, I have fallen into a bit of a Forever 21/H&M trap, where I buy a mass amount of poor quality clothing. Don't get me wrong, some of the items are really great and I can make them last but generally, they aren't that special. However, with a smaller budget, it's hard to spend it all on one item sometimes.

Lately, I have been attempting to buy fewer things that are better quality. It may take some saving but I am sure I will be happier in the long run. Here are the shoes that I am thinking of recently!

First off, did anyone else see the article from Vogue a few months back about Birkenstocks? It discussed how ugly they are but how they have become the Vogue Girl's new guilty pleasure. It was charming, to be honest, and I rejoiced because the hippy inside me has always loved them (I reference them multiple times when I talk about how I will be as an old woman). Although, they talk about the sandals, I have my eye on a pair of black clogs (not suede) (pictured below). Wear them with some gray knobby socks and you've got your hippy on. Seriously though, I need these.

Next, galoshes. I have worn galoshes every winter for about 7 years and honestly, I don't know how I lived without them before. I kid you not, they are as necessary as a winter coat, in my book. I have actually worn through 2 different brands (Steve Madden and American Eagle). This year, I need to get a new pair and am ready to take the plunge and get some Hunter Raint Boots. I want one color and one color only. Olive green (if not that, than Navy, nothing else). They will go with anything.

Lastly, high top sneakers. So, I have flirted with the idea of getting some legit nike sneakers but keep going back to the high top Chuck Taylors. You can't really go wrong with those and I feel confident in that decision. If I went with those, I would probably get the classic navy pair (if not that, than classic black).

There you have it. Those are the quality shoes that I am currently working towards. It will very likely take quite a bit of time before I get them but I am excited to think about them until then!

Happy Friday!
