A Fond Farewell To A Friend

You guys, I am so so so sick. I have caught Satan's head cold and am dying. Luckily, Chad was able to stay home to help out because I am completely useless. Also, this post is going to be real mushy and spiritual so...buckle up.

So...this is a tough one. But a good one at the same time.

One of my best friends and favorite people left on the Lord's call to Uganda. He will be there for 2 years sharing messages about our Savior.

The de Lisle men at the airport.
Glenna and her mission serving boys.

It was ever so bittersweet. I will admit, that I selfishly balled my eyes out on Tuesday night when he was set apart. Like, I was such a mess that I am fairly certain the Stake President thought "wow, look at that Sister-in-Law go".  Think, woman who got stung by several bees around her eyes because my face was so swollen. But my tears weren't entirely selfish, they were also bursting with pride. I will miss my dear friend so incredibly much.

But, this was the best thing for him. This is where he is suppose to be and Chad and I are so incredibly proud and happy for him and impressed with his journey to get to this point. Chad has said so many times that his own mission (he served in the rough parts of Cleveland) was the the best experience he has ever had (second to marrying me, I am sure :)). Chad and I know the incredible blessing a mission brings and know that he will be guided and protected.

Their last hug before he got on the plane.

When we dropped him off at the airport (which I am not pictured in because I was SOOOO sick from an awful head cold and puffy from the tears the night before), the spirit was strong. I had cried all my tears at the setting apart (remember the bee sting image here) that this time, I just wanted him to know how happy I was for him. How proud I was, he was doing something that I could never imagine doing. Jordy and Chad reminisced about their own missions. It made me excited for the opportunity that Geddy will have to serve a mission as well.

To close, I will think of my dearest friend all the time in the next 2 years. Pray for him, send him positive energy, ya know, the works. This will be one of the most powerful 2 years of his life.

Geddy and Aj.

God be with you Elder de Lisle. Go forth and do good. And when you return, we will drink Coke Slurpees and stay up late playing Dungeons and Dragons.

Happy Thursday!

P.S. Just to clarify, Aj is also my brother-in-law.

 P.P.S. Geddy is just cute.

"wow, look at that sister-in-law go", oh man you are hilarious! Go AJ. He will bless so many lives and will always be thankful he made this faithful decisions. And that last picture of Geddy is to die for. I just want to snatch him up!
