A Child at Heart

So, there was this Hobbit Lego set that I wanted last year but never got. This year, we thought it would be fun to put it together Christmas night while we watch The Fellowship of the Ring (we do that every year).

It was SO fun. Chad actually got me a little set for my Birthday just to try out and I was OBSESSED. I loved putting it together because it's like a little puzzle. It keeps my mind busy and it is something fun to do while I watch TV or something.

I love all the tiny details!

The other side.

We had the best time starting the big set on Christmas night. There were so many pieces and steps that we actually split it into 2 nights. Why didn't I play with legos as a kid? It's so fun! I feel like a 9 year old boy but man, it's a good time!

Gandalf!

Not only did we Watch Fellowship of the Ring on Christmas Night but we watched Two Towers and Return of the King the next two nights. Extended versions, of course. I don't care who you are or how hardcore of a Tolkien expert you claim to be, those 3 movies are awesome. So sit down and shut up (jokes!). It totally cried at the end of Return of the King. So good! Not only have we watched those but I am starting the books again. We ordered the Silmarillion and should be getting that shortly. I have never read it before and cannot wait! I don't know what it is about Christmas time but it just gets me in the mood for some Middle Earth. The timing is odd, I know.

Perfect for our shelf.

We really love those films. After re-watching them, I was reminded by how much better they are than the Hobbit movies. Though I thought the Hobbits have been quite fun and have enjoyed them, they just aren't the same. There is something so magnificent and well thought out about the LOTR movies. I feel like they were built and created with such care.

I can't wait to find my next Lego set. What a treat!

Happy Tuesday!

I love the little lego people! What a fun tradition. I agree, I think LOTR is leaps and bounds better than the Hobbit, but I think that's just because the story is more epic.
