Beauty Listy

Let's have a little chat about beauty stuff, shall we? Though I am more of a clothes person, I have grown to enjoy beauty "stuff" more. Not really hair because, I just hate doing mine but I enjoy makeup stuff. Which is funny because I wear very little makeup day to day. Haha, so it's basically me collecting makeup that I don't use.

Wow, just writing that makes me realize how horrible that is.

But whatever! It's fun to talk about so here we go.

First of all, for Christmas I got a Sephora giftcard which meant that I got to buy "nice" makeup, instead of drugstore stuff (I always buy drugstore stuff). So, I knew that I wanted two specific items. First was an awesome red lipstick and then a mascara that I had heard people rave about. I spent my $50 gift card on those two things. INSANE RIGHT?! So expensive.

Normally, I would never spend that much on cosmetics but it was a giftcard and rather fun splurging on those rare (to me) items.

I got NARS "Heat Wave" lipstick which is a fantastic orangey red that makes your lips seriously pop. It is a semi matte, vibrant shade. I feel like it was my first "big girl" lipstick.

Along with my "big girl" lipstick, I also got Benefit "They're Real" Mascara. It's basically a holy grail to the beauty gurus that I've watched on YouTube and to be honest, I have been pretty impressed. The mascara has totally grown on me. And the WAND. WOW, so amazing. Definitely the best mascara wand I have ever used. I've been really happy with it. Would I pay $23 of my own cash on it in the future? I don't know about that but it's been fun using it for the time being!

Now, I love to write lists of things that I am wanting to buy. Whether it be clothing or apartment stuff or makeup. I just love writing lists about anything. For reals. It feels so good. So, here are the two items I am hoping to try out.

NYX "Pinched" Blush:

NYX "Pinched" Blush

I read somewhere that this was a great dupe for NARS "Orgasm" Blush (bold name, am I right?) which I could never bring myself to pay $30 on. Many people have raved about that NARS blush so, I thought it would be fun to get this $5 dupe. Plus, I have a few NYX lipsticks/glosses that I love and figured it would be nice to give one of their blushes a try. Now, usually, I prefer a bright pink blush, not peach. I don't know why, I often feel like peach blush makes me look like I am trying to wear fake tanner on my cheeks. I don't feel like that when other people wear it but I feel funny wearing it on myself. Strange, huh? Has anyone tried this blush before? Have you liked it?

Next up...

Big Sexy Hair "Powder Play":

So, when I got my haircut a few weeks ago, my stylist used this in my hair and I really liked it. My hair is super healthy because I never do it (seriously, I am the worst at doing my hair) and it's fine and straight so it lies so flat to my head. Yikes. It's a situation. This powder is super cool and gives a lot of volume which I am fairly desperate for. I'm excited to get it and try it out on my own.

And that, my friends, is my beauty listy. You may have not cared or maybe you did.

Happy Thursday!

You'll have to tell me how that volume spray works. I desperately need more volume, but ever spray that I've tried has left me unimpressed. Also, I'm scared to death of blush. I've NEVER worn it. I'm always afraid I'll look like a clown. You'll have to teach me your ways.
