Geddy's First Day Of Preschool!

Well, my Little Dude is growing right up. Two weeks ago, Geddy started preschool. This was a hard and daunting and SCARY thing for me. Not because he is getting so big and not because I don't want him to grow up but it freaked me out that he was gonna be in someone else's care for 2 1/2 hours twice a week.

I was so worried that they wouldn't understand him or that the kids would be mean to him or that the teachers wouldn't like him. It's the real "Mama Bear" instinct that kicks in and makes me think "nope, he needs to stay with me his entire life" but clearly, that's not healthy.

So, on the first day we went and met his teachers. They are these two wonderful women (a Mother and Daughter, actually) and they run an incredible preschool from their basement. I had already scoped it out back in May and was really impressed. We got Geddy all cleaned up nice and went to the "back to school" day. I asked Chad to come with me because I needed him to help with Scout (aka, I needed moral support because I was really nervous).

Geddy was nervous, for sure. He had a few questions and I could tell he was getting tense right before so, we just swept everyone out the door and went. And low and behold it went marvelously. The teachers were terrific and he loved seeing all the wonderful things in his class. And from there it's been really wonderful. He benefits from the stimulation and I benefit from the little break every week. And I feel like he is safe. The teachers say hi to him using his name every time he arrives and he loves to run in with all the other kids and is all smiles when we arrive and when we pick him up.

Moral of the story, I had nothing to worry about. This is a time of growth for him (and ME). Man I love this kid. He is a terrific soul.

Happy Wednesday! We are so proud of you Geddy!
